THE CONSTITUTIONAL BASIS

The State shall establish, maintain, and support a complete, adequate, and integrated system of education relevant to the needs of the people and society.

MANDATE

A center of professional, technological, and advanced education in agriculture, fisheries, forestry, industrial technologies, teacher education, and arts and sciences; and shall promote research, extension and professional leadership in its fields of specialization.

MISSION

The Laguna State Polytechnic College, San Pablo City Campus, shall provide the students with  industrial technology and teacher education programs to make them globally competitive graduates who will be productive members of a dynamic and vibrant Philippine society and potential contributors to the development of the World economy.

 

GOALS

In pursuit of the above mission, the following goals shall be pursued :

1.

The Industrial Technology Program shall strive for the development of human resources through its industrial technology program that will enable the graduates to meet the demands for employment in the industrial sector.  In consonance hereof, the following courses are offered :

a. B.S. in Industrial Technology
b. B.S. in Information Technology
c. B.S. in Hotel and Restaurant Management
d. Associate in Technology

2.

The Teacher Education Program shall strive to delivery quality education and training programs that will equip prospective teachers with functional knowledge, skills, and desirable attitudes and values, and professional competencies to meet the demands of the teaching profession.  In consonance hereof, the following courses are offered :

a. B.S. in Industrial Education
b. Bachelor of Secondary Education
c. Bachelor of Elementary Education

HISTORICAL ANTECEDENTS AND OTHER FACTS

LEGAL BASES:

Established  as the San Pablo City National School of Arts and Trades (SPCNSAT)   in 1960  by  Operation   of  R.A.  1847  Authored by  Congressman Jacobo Z. Gonzales.

Integrated with the Laguna State Polytechnic College (LSPC) by operation of R.A. 8292 and officially renamed LSPC, San Pablo City Campus, effective January 2001.

A.  Basic Mandate under Republic Act 1874

B.  Mandate as DECS/CHED supervised higher education institution
1978 Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology (BSIT) was offered
1987 In consortium with the Philippine College of Arts and Trades, Bachelor of Science in Industrial Education (BSIE) was offered
1995 The BSIE Program was offered as SPCNSAT's regular program through CHED Order Number 17, s. 1995
1996 The Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSEd) was offered through CHED Order Number 23, s. 1996
1998 The Graduate School was opened offering the Ed.D. and MAIE Degrees through the Technological University of the Philippines (TUP) - SPCNSAT Graduate Consortium

2002 The TUP - SPCNSAT Graduate Consortium Program was renegotiated to become the present TUP - LSPC Graduate Consortium Program.  Under this, the Doctor of Education program was offered

INTERNATIONAL LINKAGES

CIDA-Funded Partnership with Fanshawe College of Ontario,  Canada,    for  the   period   1996-2000.

Amount of Funding Grant : $411,153

Laguna Provincial Government Initiated Linkage with New Zealand Polytechnic International, Inc.

LOCAL LINKAGES

Philips  Semi-Conductor (Philippines) Inc.  donated a  state-of-the-art electronics equipment and provides upgrading skills training to faculty members of electronics

Ayala Fund, Inc.  for  faculty and student Scholarship Programs and Research Grants.

Angelo  King  Foundation Through the Philippine Business for Social Progress donated a Shopwork Building.

Laguna  Employment  and  Manpower Development Council   through  the  Department  of  Trade and  Industry - LSPC, SPC is being assigned  as  the Center for Excellence in Electronics Technology.
