Quail RDE Program In The Making

The Network has tasked a group of experts to prepare the Quail Research, Development and Extension Program. A series of consultation meetings and visits to quail farms in Sta. Cruz, Laguna, Lipa City and San Jose, Batangas were conducted by the team of experts composed of: Dr. Severino Capitan, Team Leader (IAS, UPLB); with Dr. Clarita Dagaas (IAS, UPLB); Prof. Romeo Huelgas (CEM, UPLB) and Dr. Francis Andrew Eugene Bernardo (CVM, UPLB) as members. The program developed focused on:

· Genetic Improvement of Quail for Meat and Egg Production

· Program on Studying the Economics of Quail Production in the Philippines

· Program on the Development of Appropriate Nutrition for Quail

· Program for the Development of Effective Management, Health and Sanitation Schemes Geared Towards Improving Production and Efficiency in Quail Farming

· Evaluation and Development of Appropriate Production and Management Systems for Quail
