The NLP Network

The National Livestock and Poultry (NLP) Network 
embodies the functional integration among institutions involved in Livestock and Poultry Research Development and Extension Program in pursuit of the "one system, one program" principle of the Agriculture and Fisheries Modernization Act (AFMA). 
Vision

A competitive and sustainable livestock and poultry industries in the Philippines

Mission

Provide research, development and extension (RDE) direction towards poverty alleviation and the promotion of food security in protein-based food of animal origin.

Goals

  • Identify priority research areas for livestock and poultry which will improve productivity, production efficiency and product quality
  • Promote the utilization and commercialization of livestock and poultry technologies developed through researches
  • Develop mechanisms/systems to enhance technology transfer from research institutions to stakeholders/end-users

 

AFMA's Declaration of Policy in R&D

"The State shall likewise give priority to research and development, invention, innovation, and their utilization and to science and technology education, training and services. In addition to appropriate and relevant technology capabilities, and their application to the country's productive system and national life."

NLP's Benefactor

The Department of Agriculture through the 
Bureau of Agricultural Research (BAR) supports the 
NLP in conjunction with the mandate to enhance, support, and consolidate the existing National Research and Development 
System in Agriculture and Fisheries (NaRDSAF).
